The months-long lock-down due to the Covid-19 virus and on top of that the "1.5 meter" measure have led to the decision that our café-restaurant Lounge & Food within JOINN! will close on August 1st. The meeting rooms and city lofts will remain open as before. The space of the current restaurant will be part of the meeting rooms so that extra space will be created which is required due to the 1.5 meter measure.
Luc and Wout de Wit, the founders of JOINN! 5 years ago, indicate that the closure of the restaurant and the associated reorganization are aimed at ensuring the continuity of the company. Luc: “According to the first forecasts, 2020 seemed to be the best year since its foundation, and the anniversary year was full of planned activities. This has come to an abrupt end since the lockdown on 15 March. Government support for the restaurant is very welcome, but no more than a tissue for the bleeding. We had to take this choice with pain in our hearts, but this decision is necessary for the future of JOINN! to secure."
Wout: “It will certainly take some getting used to for the regular restaurant guests of JOINN! that they can only come to us during private parties, parties and meetings. By further professionalizing and expanding the meeting rooms, JOINN! sees the future with confidence. For example, by facilitating hybrid meetings where some of the guests are physically present and some online via razor-sharp images and audio."
